Starting your morning right is so important to set up a successful day. Something we've been hearing since we were young is "eat your breakfast!" Once thing I've started to do as I enter my later 20s is intermittent fasting, but that's a whole other blog post (stay tuned!) The days I'm not fasting I love to begin my day with a blueberry smoothie, usually accompanied by spinach, oat milk, a few strawberries, and a healthy scoop of plant based protein powder. I'm a firm believer in having your cup o' joe too, so I always make sure I get my fix to jump start my sleepy brain. All of which is paired with my personal vitamin regiment. Another great way to start your days when not fasting is to make a breakfast heavy in protein. This is especially helpful if you're trying to lose weight or gain muscle. Omelets made with cage free eggs, avocado, grass-fed meats, and vibrant veggies is guaranteed to not only keep you full, but fuel your body and get many vitamins and important nutrients in.
Example Omelet recipe:
2 cage-free eggs
1c organic spinach
1/2 organic red or orange bell pepper
1/2 sliced organic avocado
1 free range or equivalent quality chicken sausage
Drizzle olive oil on pan and add bell peppers, cook until soft and add spinach about half way through then set all veggies aside. Drizzle more olive oil and cook eggs. Add veggies and pre-cooked chicken sausage to eggs before folding over into classic omelet shape. Top with avocado slices and season to taste with salt and pepper.
